Natural Stream and pool

A natural looking stream can be easily created using pond liner, natural rock, aggregates and a suitable pump. Firstly a suitable sized hole should be dug i.e. 3 meters by 3 meters by 1 meter deep. This should then be lined with underlay and then pond liner. The edges can then be disguised with rocks, turf or paving. To construct the stream you should first dig out the rough shape 15-25 centimeters deep, preferably creating several bends and curves and varying the width. Having lined this with underlay and a pond liner (probably 2 meters wide) it would be advisable to run the pump to ensure that the depth is enough to contain the flow. If not then this would be the time to dig your stream a bit deeper. The stream can now be dressed using a boulders and aggregates for the edges, built up to the required height. Through the middle of the stream a selection of different sized cobbles, pebbles and boulders should be used to create a natural effect.
