Pool and waterfall

To create a pond and waterfall we would always suggest using a flexible liner as this gives you much more flexibility on the shapes you can create. To work out the size of liner you need there is a formula that should be applied: take your depth and multiply it by 2 and then add this number onto your length and onto your width giving you the size of the liner you will need. Or use our Calculator.

A natural looking stream can be easily created using pond liner, natural rock, aggregates and a suitable pump. Firstly a suitable sized hole should be dug i.e. 3 meters by 3 meters by 1 meter deep. This should then be lined with underlay and then pond liner. The edges can then be disguised with rocks, turf or paving. To construct the waterfall you should dig out a rough shape and place rocks up the sides and through the middle to create steps for the water to run off. These rocks can be cemented in if required. To add the finishing touch the entire waterfall should be decorated with aggregates such as cobbles, pebbles and boulders. Further attraction can be added with a fountain.
