The 2” BSPF Brass Spring Check Valve is a non-return valve with 2” BSP Female threads at both ends. The mechanism consists of a spring loaded nylon seat.

Suitable for connection to 2" BSP Male threads.

This one way valve opens under the pressure of pumped water flow, and closes when the pump flow stops. Check valves are used to trap water and prevent back-flooding. These valves are commonly used at the end of suction pipes on swimming pool pump installations (often referred to as Foot Valves), allowing water to be retained in the suction pipe for efficient priming and starting. Non-return valves are also used between connected water tanks and pools on different levels to prevent water running back to the lowest tank or pool when water is not being circulated. Check valves can be installed anywhere on a pipe length, but are usually positioned right at the beginning or end of a pipe run, depending on where the water needs to be retained. These can be fitted to both pump suction and pressure (discharge/outlet) sides. When using a check valve, it is important to also use a Strainer before the valve. This helps to prevent the check valve from blocking with debris and failing to close. BSP Male Strainers will screw directly into the check valve. To connect flexible hose pipe to the brass check valve, a BSP Male Hosetail can be used.

2” BSP Female threads measure approximately 56.5mm (2.23”) across the inner diameter.
