How Do You Build A Garden Stream?

To create a garden stream, you need to follow a few basic principles.

  • Install a water reservoir and grid (or a lined water block system for larger projects) at the bottom end of the stream.
  • Line the stream section with a flexible rubber liner and protective underlay. Overlay the liner too if building on top.
  • Run a length of flexible hose from the reservoir at the bottom to the head of the stream or spillway at the top.
  • Install a submersible water pump in the reservoir and connect the bottom end of the flexible hose to this.
  • Seal up any potential leak points with waterproof sealant and waterfall foam.
  • Decorate the whole area with your preferred natural stone aggregate.

Before you jump to the physical work, the stream area must first be planned out and routed, so that the required products can be sized correctly for the job.
