The Oase Filtral 2500 and Oase Filtral 5000 are integral, drop-in filters which are very simple to install and require electrical connection only (no hoses required). They can supply a small watercourse or fountain and are particularly suited to small ponds, up to 5000 litres, and self-contained water features.
Oase Filtoclear pressurised pond filters discharge water under pressure, the cleaned water can therefore flow uphill for a good distance - ideal for feeding a watercourse or for connecting to a decorative pond-edge water feature; and they are easy to conceal as they can be almost completely buried in the ground next to your pond. Filtoclear sets include an integrated UV clarifier, easy clean technology and are optimally matched to energy efficient Aquamax ECO pumps. Filtoclear Sets combined with Oxytex Aerators are suitable for ponds up to 20,000 litres.
Biopress filter sets are an economical introduction to pressurised pond filtration for ponds up to 12,000 litres; they are currently available at special offer prices.

| Like all animals, fish absorb oxygen from their environment for respiration. When oxygen concentrations become low, anoxic (oxygen starvation) conditions may develop which can decrease the pond's ability to support life. Depending on how low the dissolved oxygen concentration is and how long it remains low, fish may eat less, convert food less efficiently and grow more slowly; and be more susceptible to infectious diseases, or even suffocate and die. Dissolved oxygen (DO) is a major contributor to water quality. Not only do fish and other aquatic animals need oxygen, but so do aerobic bacteria that decompose organic matter (silt). By infusion of air into the bottom of the pond, rising air bubbles and water movement will raise bottom water to the surface, thus releasing toxic gases to the atmosphere. Natural bacteria are stimulated by aeration and they will feed on organic waste and nutrients that would otherwise support algae blooms. Using aeration and bacteria is often a safe and sound form of pollution removal. An Oxytex Aerator not only provides essential oxygen into the pond but its large settlement surface support vital friendly bacteria to combat blanket weed and algae bloom. |

Oase Biopress Pressurised Filtration Sets |
NOTE: Calculations are based on filters being located adjacent to the pond with the outlet located 50 cms above the pond surface and installed with the optimum recommended hose diameter. If you increase the height of the outlet pipe (e.g. to the top of a watercourse), the pump flow rate will be reduced, thereby reducing the recommended maximum pond volume for the filter to achieve clear water.
