A healthy pond ecosystem requires a consistently neutral pH value, kept stable by good carbonate water hardness. A lack of carbonate hardness can lead to swings and fluctuations in the pH value, which can then lead to an overload of harmful elements, poor water quality and fish health issues. Water hardness can be increased by introducing water treatments such as OptiPond. The pH can be stabilised by using Pond Salt as a buffer. Dissolved oxygen is also vital for life existence within the pond, OxyPlus will introduce an immediate dose of dissolved oxygen to the water and is ideal in times when oxygen is low, the fish are visibly gasping for air and a quick fix is required.
