LED Pond Lights
LED Pond Lights are a great addition to a garden pond. A well-arranged lighting system will highlight aquatic life and underwater features, extending enjoyment of your pond well into the hours of darkness. Lights can be positioned underwater on flat bases, or staked outside amongst the foliage around the edge pond to mark the perimeter. Lighting is also a great way to enhance focal points such as water features and pond fountains.
Types of LED Pond Lights.
All LED pond lights are suitable for both outdoor and underwater use. Most of the spotlights you will find available for pond illumination will be warm white in colour. Warm white is typically thought of as a pleasant, cosy or homely, colour, similar to the lighting found inside of the home. Colour changing ‘RGB’ LED pond lights are also an option if multicoloured illumination is more appealing. This type of light is often controlled by remote and receiver.
LED pond lights can come in neatly packaged sets of 1, 2 or 3 spotlights ready to install out of the box. For more expansive illumination, cable extensions and junctions can be used to increase and spread the illumination over a wider area. LED Pond Lights are available from very gentle 1 or 2 watt LED spots for small ponds, 3 to 6 watts for average pond illumination requirements, right up to very large 15, 20 and even 50 watt + LED lights capable of illuminating to great heights and distances.
A typical garden pond might use 3 or 4 warm white spotlights of around 3 watts each to put a soft glow in the water. A larger or deeper pond may require a few more watts per LED to penetrate through the water from the bottom of the pond or across it.
