Thin Wall Tank Connectors
A thin wall tank connector consists of a threaded pipe with a locked nut, and a moving nut with gaskets to tighten the fitting up. Tank connectors are used to create inlets and outlets in water tanks and reservoirs, by cutting a hole in the tank wall of an appropriate size for the tank connector being fitted. Tank connectors are best fitted on flat vertical walls and tank floors to ensure a tight seal. These fittings are watertight by design and need only to be screwed up tight, with no sealants required. Fittings such as ball valves, strainers, check valves and hose tails can be screwed to either side of a tank connector to connect pipes and transport water to, or from a tank. Standard tank connectors are BSP male threaded on both sides. Extended tank connectors have a female BSP thread on the locked nut and a male BSP threaded pipe. Extended tank connectors have a larger flange surface and a longer male thread, and pass through thicker walls than other tank connectors.
