Black Protective Pond Overlay

High grade, heavy duty 250g per m² black, matted geotextile pond liner overlay.

Black geotextile makes for ideal overlaying material when used as a protective lining on top of a flexible pond liner, as the darker material does not stand out on the pond floor. Overlaying is advisable for protecting the pond liner if decorative aggregates such as gravel, rocks, soil or slabs are to be placed on top of the pond liner. Overlay can be laid to cover the whole lined area before laying aggregate, or used specifically to safeguard certain areas of the pond liner that may be more at risk of puncture from above, such as the perimeter edge where people or pets may tread, or beneath a water feature, a heavy pump, or a fountain plinth.

Black geotextile also makes for equally good underlaying material and has all of the same puncture resistant properties as Protective Pond Underlay.

Black overlay is supplied on a roll 2 metres wide (actually measuring 1 metre folded in half), and cut to length for the required square metreage.

Note - This overlay is not self-sinking and therefore may require weighting down or loosely bonding to the pond liner with a waterproof sealant.
