  • Stacked two-piece polyurethane resin spring and overhang watercourse kit complete with water reservoir and grid, pump, flexible hose and clips.

Supplied in 2 separate pieces, arranged with the upper spring section cascading down onto the lower overhang piece, this delightful, realistic, faux-slate garden water feature measures approximately 110cm in length and 105cm in width, with an assembled height of 27cm. The Spring weighs 4.3kg, and the Overhang 4.6kg.

The upper spring piece features a water outlet hole with a stepped hose tail connector at the rear on the right for attaching the flexible hose pipe. The lower overhang piece should be placed beneath the ledge of the upper piece, with the reservoir buried beneath the lower overhang to capture and recirculate the water.

The rectangular water reservoir measures 80cm x 63cm and is 38cm deep, containing 150 litres of water. The steel grid covers the open reservoir and can support up to 150kg of aggregate on top. The Compact 3000 water feature pump provides the ideal flow rate for the watercourse and has a flow regulator should you wish to slow the stream down. A 5 metre length of 1” (25mm) internal diameter black flexible hose is supplied, with 2 stainless steel hose clips to secure the hose to the water feature and the pump at both ends.

Description

This water feature is manufactured from Polyurethane Resin which offers the realistic look of natural slate, but is far lighter in weight at only 8.9kg combined, making it far easy to position the pieces by hand and without the need for lifting machinery that would be required to move real stone.

Supplied with this product:

Installation Tips:

The water feature needs to be positioned at a slight downward angle to assist gravity in directing the water down the cascade. The surface should be horizontally level to ensure the correct spread of water across the stream section. If additional support is required beneath the water feature to secure it at the desired angle, bricks or breeze blocks can serve this purpose if there is not a natural bank to use.

When the male threaded hose tail is screwed in, it is recommended that PTFE tape is wrapped around the thread of the hose tail to prevent any leaking. There is a thin skin of flexible material covering the outlet hole directly opposite the hose tail. This material must be pierced or cut out entirely before the water feature can be operated.

The flexible hose must be connected to the hose tail and secured with a stainless steel hose clip at both ends. The pump is installed in the water reservoir at the other end of the stream. To maximise the flow, we recommend that the 20mm (3/4") stage on the watercourse hose tail is sawn off before attaching the 25mm hose to the 25mm stage (middle stage) of the hose tail. The flexible hose can be buried or routed beneath the water feature to hide it.

It is recommended that the flow direction of the stream is tested before finishing the water feature, so that adjustments to the position of the feature can be made if necessary. Testing can be done by gently pouring a bucket of water or directing a hose pipe down the stream to see if the water takes the intended path to the bottom. When running satisfactorily, the feature can be set in by backfilling around it with a sand/cement mix and/or soil so that it should not move from its final position.

The water reservoir should be buried in the ground to conceal it from view, with the steel grid at ground level. The steel grid can be covered with a decorative stone aggregate to hide it from view. The lowest ledge of the watercourse must overhang the edge of the water reservoir so that all of the water makes its way back to the reservoir. The pump must be fully immersed underwater at the bottom of the water reservoir. The pump should be capable of delivering a minimum of 2,500 litres per hour at the head of the stream.
